Breaking My COMPLETION-IST Ways

Breaking My COMPLETION-IST Ways

In my last blog post I wrote about how I am "...a bit of a completionist" when it comes to having my devices at 100% when I begin to use them. I talked about wanting to "let go" of this completionist mindset due to the Apple Watch Ultra's battery being "a BEAST." This blog post finds me trying to break that mindset. What I plan to do is document my charging habits for one week as well as report how I am feeling with the Ultra charged to 80%, at the time I take it off its charger.

Sunday, October 9th, 11:15am-100% fully charged. After my morning walk my Ultra was at 17%. This was the lowest I'd let the watch go since buying it on September 23rd.

Monday, October 10th, 5:21am-77%...charged to 95% while taking a shower. After posting my thoughts on Discord a few people chimed in to remind me that optimal battery % is around 80%...not to fully charge any device.

Tuesday, October 11th, 7:21pm-33%...charged...working on charging the watch to 80% before going to bed.

Galaxy Brain Moment: It was at this point in my pursuit to break my completionist ways that I asked myself, "What am I doing? Just keep a casual eye on the percentage. When it gets to a number that you feel you need to initiate charging, just do that before going to bed."

That's exactly what I've been doing since Tuesday and I think, as a result, I've broken my completionist ways with regards to charging my new Apple Watch Ultra.
