Thinking about YEARLY THEMES

Thinking about YEARLY THEMES

During the latest Cortex podcast, Myke and Grey shared how they are beginning to think about their potential new Yearly Themes. Myke discussed how he creates an Apple Note that he writes ideas in that he's noticing about his Home life and Work life. Specifically, he notes what he's happy about and what he's frustrated with. He mentioned that keeping a note like this could heighten one's sense of what is/not working in both contexts. He also mentioned that adding to this note could enable opportunities to make connections and note trends; I'm paraphrasing here, check out the episode for exact details. Making these observations might lead a person to creating a Yearly Theme that is meaningful in a way that just sitting down and saying, "Ok, what is my Yearly Theme going to be this year" might not be. I decided to try this out shortly after I finished listening to the episode. I created a file in Obsidian and started writing things down. I might even experiment with Obsidian's Back Linking feature where appropriate. My intention is to revisit the file, "when the spirit moves me" to see if in fact I am able to glean a new Yearly Theme from my efforts.
