WWDC 2021: Mid-Week Thoughts

This has been a very busy week of podcast listening due to WWDC and it’s only Wednesday. So far I’ve listened to the following podcasts...

I love listening to these podcasts during the week of WWDC. Listeners get all sorts of amazing insights from the hosts as they literally “live for this week.” These insights come from the hosts respective “takes” on, among other things, the keynote, state of the union, and “session” videos they watch.

Listening to each of these podcasts has peeked my curiosity with regards to the iPadOS beta. I know I said earlier in the week that I was not sure if I was going to “jump on” the iPadOS beta “train.” I also said that I reserved the right to sit with the information I was getting from the podcasts I listen to before making a final decision. There are a few ways to “jump on” that metaphorical “train;” as a developer or a curious person from the public. I am not a developer and am not going to pay to be on “that train.” That said, I will wait until the Public Betas are released. Last year I got on the “public beta train” for iOS and watchOS and am glad that I did. It was fun playing around with new features. The betas were and continue to be very stable. The advantage I will get waiting until the iPadOS Public Beta is released is that any initial instability experienced by developers should be taken care of so that people like me run less of a risk.

I’m looking forward to listening to Connected, Do By Friday, and MacStories Unwind as I am sure each will have some “take” on what transpired this week.
