‘Cause I try and I try…

In Strong Covers, Vol. 1, the recent episode of the podcast Strong Songs, the host, Kirk Hamilton compares The Rolling Stones “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” with Devo’s cover of the song. Listening to this comparison got me thinking, “How might one “cover” a cover of a song via another medium; in this case poetry?” Would this attempt actually qualify as “covering” the cover? Probably not. It did compel me to try though. Here is my Kerouac-esque attempt to “cover” what Devo did with this rock classic!
