I am in control of my narrative...
Stoic Quote of the Day: "Reason shows us there is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so." -Seneca
What hits me first here is the understanding that my judgements, which involve thinking, are what define things good or bad. For example, stubbing the 3 toes of my right foot, on the Hope Chest, in the dark (true story), is not good or bad. I decide to label it so.
Intersections with Seneca’s quote will come later this morning, after a doctor’s appointment. I could go wall climbing before meeting some friends later this afternoon for ping pong. My decision to just come home and relax before meeting my friends for ping pong is neither good nor bad it just, is.
Based on my first impressions and my estimates as to where this quote will intersect my life today, I will strive be at peace with my decision to just come home after my doctor’s appointment and relax.
