Two New Podcasts I’m trying out...

As my Spring Break comes to a close I thought I’d spend the morning indulging in two of my favorite things, listening to podcasts and writing. I thought it would be fun to try out two podcasts I’ve heard a lot about from other podcasters to see if they might be worth adding to my queue. Writing about my first impressions of each podcast, in this post, is helping me figure out where they may fit within my podcast listening and why.

Clockwise

Clockwise is a podcast from Relay FM. It is tech focused; specifically aimed at discussing current issues. It is typically hosted by Dan Morten and Mikah Sargent. There are four guests total (Dan and Mikah) along with two special guess, each bringing a topic to the “proverbial table.” It is never longer than 30 minutes. This podcast “ticks” a lot of boxes for me; the format, the duration, and of course, the content. I also enjoyed listening to the voices...a very important element in podcast consumption. I listened to the latest episode this morning while running on the treadmill. The podcast comes out every Wednesday and, based on how much I enjoyed listening to episode #393, will remain in my queue for a long time.

Top Four

Top Four is another podcast from Relay FM. Are we seeing a pattern here? It is hosted by Marco and Tiffany Arment. The topics they cover are wide ranging; recent episodes include Apple Products, Lettuces, and Pop Tarts and generally focus on their opinions about...you guessed it...their top 4. I already enjoy one of the voices on this podcast because of his “main podcast” ATP. What I like about this podcast is the positive, upbeat, fun banter Marco shares with his wife Tiffany. I just finished listening to the most recent episode about their favorite Apple Products and as a result, have decided that I need a little more fun in my podcast queue so I’m adding Top Four to it. Another cool thing about this podcast is that it comes out monthly...something fun to look forward to!
